Starting with

Self-Publishing

Self-publishing in a sense can serve as a great launching pad. Many notable authors have published their own books- just to name a few:

  • Andy Weir (The Martian)
  • John Grisham (The Firm, A Time to Kill, The Client)
  • E.L James (Fifty Shades of Gray)
  • Lisa Genova (Still Alice)
  • Amanda Hocking (the Trylle Trilogy)
  • James Redfield (The Celestine Prophecy)

The Power of

The Author

The Author
Self-publishing, coupled with Print On Demand (POD), is quickly becoming an industry standard for getting your book published and delivered to the hands of readers. This is because it is not only affordable but it allows you, the author complete control over your own book.

With many large publishing companies, you have to submit your manuscript and wait for a response – a process that can be very time-consuming. Not only can it be very difficult finding the appropriate publisher, you face the probability of your book being rejected. Does this mean the manuscript is not worthy of publication? Not at all! It simply means you don’t have the backing needed to help get your book noticed by the right people.

Print on demand is simply a method of book production used as an alternative to, and increasingly in conjunction with the more traditional offset printing methods. POD books are stored electronically and are individually printed as they are ordered. Because Print on demand books can be produced quickly, inexpensively and at a premium quality, its use has gained wide acceptance among publishers and self-published authors like you.

WE CAN HELP

Aventine Press, the author friendly self-publishing company is a relatively small publishing company but because we partner with Lightning Source Inc., a subsidiary of Ingram Industries Inc., we can offer our authors expansive delivery channels to more than 90% of all retail bookstore outlets in the USA!

With Ingram database listing and Aventine Press print on demand, your titles can be ordered by booksellers using their preferred methods – electronic ordering, telephone, fax, and mail.

FLEXIBILITY & QUALITY

We can produce trade paperbacks and jacketed hardcovers with 4-color covers in two trim sizes, 5.5″x8.5″ and 6″x9″. We produce clean graphics, vibrant 4-color covers, and easy-to-read text. Our standard paperbacks are virtually identical in quality to offset-printed originals.  In fact, readers would be hard-pressed to tell the difference.

QUIET PROFESSIONALISM

Most of our clientele come to us as referrals from authors we have worked for in the past. Our reputation for excellence in customer service, book cover designs, interior layout and author web page design is second to none in the industry.

PEOPLE MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

Many self-publishing companies today use automated processes for page layout and even copy-editing which can lead to undesired results. At Aventine Press, we employ talented people to perform these tasks, not machines.
