The Unqualified Widow

by Shirley Spires Baechtold

It’s Summer, 1954, in Louisville, Kentucky

He’s working in Louisville before going back to New York for his second season with the New York Knicks. She’s back from Europe and playing the piano bar in the Forest Lounge at Iroquois Gardens Supper Club. It’s been two years since they graduated from Eastern Kentucky University and went their separate ways.

They meet again, not really by chance.

This new 2017 edition: “The Unqualified Widow – Love, Laughter, and Basketball” has a new section called “A Funny Thing Happened.”

Thanks!
